Isaiah 18 and
America.
In this part of Scripture we are told of two
different nations.
First and most important is Israel.
Second is the US.
Let us read some different translations of Isaiah
18 in the Bible.

1 Woe to the land of whirring wings [1]
along the rivers of Cush, [2]
2 which sends envoys by sea
in papyrus boats over the water.
Go, swift messengers,
to a people tall and smooth-skinned,
to a people feared far and wide,
an aggressive nation of strange speech,
whose land is divided by rivers.

7 At that time gifts will be brought to the LORD
Almighty
from a people tall and smooth-skinned,
from a people feared far and wide,
an aggressive nation of strange speech,
whose land is divided by rivers-
the gifts will be brought to Mount Zion, the place of the Name of the LORD
Almighty.

1 Woe to the land shadowing with wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia:
2 That sendeth ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of bulrushes upon the
waters, saying, Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation scattered and peeled, to a
people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden
down, whose land the rivers have spoiled!

7 In that time shall the present be brought unto
the LORD of hosts of a people scattered and peeled, and from a people terrible
from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden under foot, whose
land the rivers have spoiled, to the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, the
mount Zion.

I used various
translations, also in Dutch (my language) to try to understand what is meant.
America.
In 18:1 We meet a country, that is very busy. We
should say that they have a lot of business contacts.
That business should be all over the world, because
they sent their messengers in papyrus vessels to other nations.
Thor Hijerdale sailed in his “Kontikki” a
vessel made of papyrus, thousands of miles. (He made two vessels to make two
different trips.)
This busy nation, that is situated on the other
side of a river that has its origin in Ethiopia. On
the mountain range there in Ethiopia spring 2 great rivers: The Nile and Congo
River.
The Nile we can skip, because on the other side
where the Nile ends lies the EU and they are not this busy land in connection
with Israel. Opposite from where the Congo
River ends in the Atlantic lies …. The US!!
My conclusion
is that this busy land in connection with Israel is the US.
Israel.
18:2 The swift ambassadors from the first country
(the US) have to go to a nation that is scattered and peeled from what is was in
the beginning and from what it will become in future.
This is what I read from the various translations.
Israel was a great nation under king Salomon, but
is now only a small part of the country it was then.
Still they are feared and have a strange language,
that no other nation speaks, Hebrew.
In the time of the Peace Millennium Israel will be
one of the greatest nation under the rule of their Messiah, our Lord Jesus.
It is a people of many rules (verse 7)
Its land is divided by rivers. River Jordan is
really dividing the country of Israel.
This people of
Israel will bring a present to the Lord, to Jerusalem. To mount Zion.
Is here a mentioning of parts of the New Temple of
God, that should be ready waiting in ships already for some decades?
Or even the Arch Moses made? Future will tell
us.
In some translations there is evidence that the
Israelites will flee from the US in fear. Going
to Israel.
This is not unthinkable while many Jews live in the
US and after Rapture and (as I believe) the destruction of the US by a natural
disaster, the Jews will loose a lot in the States.
The Bible says that God will sent His hunters to
bring His people back to Israel. They
don’t have to wait for the hunters! They can go now!
18:4-6 Shows us a clear view of tribulation
time.
1.The heat during harvest time.
2.The heat after rain etc.
3.The fowls and wild beasts will take possession of
countries that are judged. Branches cut off.
Compare Revelation 6:8 ... left to the wild beasts.
So America is in
this part of Scripture I believe.
