Is America Babylon?
Let us find the answer in the Bible, Revelation
17 ,18 and 19. NIV.
Read these chapters for yourself.
I will quote some of the verses.
Rev. 17
4The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, and
was glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls. She held a golden cup in
her hand, filled with abominable things and the filth of her adulteries. 5This
title was written on her forehead: MYSTERY BABYLON THE GREAT THE MOTHER OF
PROSTITUTES AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. 6I saw that the woman was
drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of those who bore testimony to
Jesus.
7When I saw her, I was greatly astonished. Then the angel said to me:
"Why are you astonished?

12"The ten horns you saw are ten kings who
have not yet received a kingdom, but who for one hour will receive authority
as kings along with the beast. 13They have one purpose and will give their
power and authority to the beast. 14They will make war against the Lamb, but
the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings--and
with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers."
15Then the angel said to me, "The waters you saw, where the prostitute
sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations and languages. 16The beast and the ten
horns you saw will hate the prostitute. They will bring her to ruin and leave
her naked; they will eat her flesh and burn her with fire.
Rev.18
3For all the nations have drunk
the maddening wine of her adulteries.
The kings of the earth committed adultery with her,
and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her excessive luxuries."

In her heart she boasts,
'I sit as queen; I am not a widow,
and I will never mourn.'
8Therefore in one day her plagues will overtake her:
death, mourning and famine.
She will be consumed by fire,
for mighty is the Lord God who judges her.
9"When the kings of the earth who committed adultery with her and shared
her luxury see the smoke of her burning, they will weep and mourn over her.
10Terrified at her torment, they will stand far off and cry:
" 'Woe! Woe, O great city,
O Babylon, city of power!
In one hour your doom has come!'
11"The merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her because no one
buys their cargoes any more-- 12cargoes of gold, silver, precious stones and
pearls; fine linen, purple, silk and scarlet cloth; every sort of citron wood,
and articles of every kind made of ivory, costly wood, bronze, iron and
marble; 13cargoes of cinnamon and spice, of incense, myrrh and frankincense,
of wine and olive oil, of fine flour and wheat; cattle and sheep; horses and
carriages; and bodies and souls of men.

24In her was found the blood of prophets and of
the saints,
and of all who have been killed on the earth."
Rev.19
1After this I heard what sounded like the roar of
a great multitude in heaven shouting:
"Hallelujah!
Salvation and glory and power belong to our God,
2for true and just are his judgments.
He has condemned the great prostitute
who corrupted the earth by her adulteries.
He has avenged on her the blood of his servants." 3And again they
shouted:
"Hallelujah!
What do we learn from these chapters?
1. When the
apostle John sees the whore, he is very surprised, astonished.
Why?
In the O.T. Israel is often called a whore, while
Israel was going to the other nations instead to their Lord. They were in a
way handling things as this whore of Babylon.
Israel belongs to the Lord and goes away from Him
to another man.
So, the whore of Babylon could be the CHURCH, not
the people, but the institution of the Church.
Let us look into this a bit further.
If it is the Church than we can understand that
John is astonished, is this to come of the Bride of Christ, the church as an
institution, a place of commerce in everything?
Even of slaves and SOULS?
2. The whore
is riding on the beast.
The beast will be the kingdom of the AC.
This means first of all that these chapters are
talking about something in the time of tribulation.
Because only than will the AC reveal himself. 2
Thess. 2:3-7
But it means also that the whore is not a nation.
The one who is riding on an animal is leading it,
steering it in a certain direction. Is even taking control over this animal.
Has it not been all the time like this, when
Church and State were not separated?
Many teachers believe that the whore is the
Church of Rome.
I believe so!
Around every square where there is a Church of
Rome there is business around the corner.
Even today you can/must pay for the well being of
your beloved ones who died.
Commerce of SOULS I call that.
The way believers have to do good deeds and pay
for every prayer in church etc.
That is pure business like in Babylon.
But in 17:5 we read that she (the whore) is the
mother of whores.
That could mean that all churches coming from
this Church of Rome have the same problem.
They are her daughters.
It is
Christianity in NAME, ruling over every nation.
Let us be astonished as the apostle John!
3. Why it
cant be America.
As shown above the whore is not a nation.
But we saw also that these chapters are about the
time of tribulation, when the AC rules over this world.
As I tried to explain in other articles about the
US, I believe that the US is not important anymore after Rapture and the
opening of the first seal in Rev.6:1
4. When the AC and these 10 kings
come to power they will destroy the Whore of Babylon, in one hour!
Will they bomb the Vatican City?
It will burn.
At last, not the burden of
religion anymore!
The AC will have his own religion
and he will make himself a god!
5. If
Babylon was the US, how could it upset the apostle John?
He never heard of the
US, it was not in existence then.
And Babylon as a world system not relying on
the Lord has been there ever since the building of this famous tower of Babel.
If only a nation was the case it would never have disturbed the apostle.
My conclusion must be:
BABYLON
IN REVELATION IS NOT AMERICA !
